Hello, my name is Laura, nice to meet you! As a versatile freelance translator, I specialise in bridging the linguistic gap between English, French, Spanish, and Catalan. Beyond translation, I offer a suite of services including quality control, proofreading, subtitling, and transcreation, ensuring that each project is tailored to meet your specific needs and budget. I am aware of how important deadlines are in this sector, so I assure you that I will respect them. My rate is €30.00 / hour (around 500 words per hour, although it depends on the complexity of the text). Here is a list of the different services I offer:

• Editing of texts produced by automatic translation tools;
• Quality control (I make sure that a translation matches the source text, spelling check, typography, punctuation, syntax, grammar, etc.);
• Proofreading and revision (spelling, rephrasing, style, etc.);
• Transcreation (video games, websites, social media content, etc.);
• Subtitling (films, YouTube videos, video games, etc.).

Education

I graduated from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in English and Catalan Studies, with a major in linguistics and cultural communication. In addition, I spent a year abroad at the University of Limerick (Ireland), which helped me to master my English and immerse myself in its culture.

I also have a two-year Master's degree in Editorial, Economic and Technical Translation (TEET) from the École supérieure d'interprètes et de traducteurs (ESIT) of the Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris. Although it is a French school, I chose the trilingual French-English-Spanish combination, in order to put these three languages to use.
