Who am I?

Daniel Mattioli, 30, born in Nice, France. After pursuing scientific studies, I decided to turn my life around, start a new career and fulfill my secret dream: to become a freelance translator!

After more than four years translating for the tourism industry, followed by a year in financial translation, I started a career in video game translation and localization more than 6 months ago.

Bonjour à toutes et à tous, Je m'appelle Daniel Mattioli, 30 ans, traducteur freelance. Je suis né à Nice et j'ai récemment déménagé à Paris pour obtenir un Master en Industrie de la Langue et Traduction Spécialisée (ILTS) à l'Université Paris Cité. Secrètement passionné par les langues, j'ai décidé de réorienter ma carrière scientifique vers une carrière littéraire il y a maintenant cinq ans. Après une année très enrichissante dans un service de traduction financière, j'ai choisi de me spécialiser dans un domaine qui me correspondait mieux, à savoir la localisation de jeux vidéo. Je travaille actuellement en tant que localisateur audio freelance sur des projets dits "AAA" (jeux-vidéo à gros budget), et ce domaine me passionne tellement que j'aimerais en faire ma spécialité.
